How Long Does a Home Design Visit Take?
Most visits take between one and two hours. A single alcove or a set of wardrobes is usually closer to an hour. A whole-home project, or a room with sloping ceilings and awkward angles, takes longer because the measuring has to be exact and we would rather get it right than rush you.
We will agree a time that genuinely suits you, including evenings and weekends. There is no need to tidy up or prepare anything. We have seen plenty of real homes and we are far more interested in your space than in how it looks on the day.
Do I Have to Decide Anything on the Day?
No. Nothing is decided on the visit, and there is no discount that disappears if you wait. We measure, we talk through ideas, we leave. Your 3D designs follow a few days later, and you look at them in your own time.
We say this plainly because the fitted furniture industry has a reputation for the opposite, and we know some people put off booking a visit for exactly that reason. If you decide fitted furniture is not for you after seeing the designs, that is a perfectly good outcome and it costs you nothing.
If you do want to go ahead, your furniture is made to order and fitted by our own team, and it comes with a 10-year guarantee.
What Is Worth Thinking About Beforehand?
Nothing here is essential. If you have no idea what you want yet, that is exactly what the visit is for. But if you would like to get the most out of it, these are the things that help.
What is not working now
Often the most useful thing you can tell us. Shoes with nowhere to go, a wardrobe you cannot reach the back of, a room that never feels finished. Problems are easier to design around than wish lists.
What needs to fit in it
Hanging versus folded, long coats or short, whether shoes and bags need storing too. Interiors are where a fitted wardrobe earns its keep, and they are worth as much thought as the doors.
Anything you have saved
Photos, screenshots, a Pinterest board, a picture of something you liked in a friend house. Pictures tell us more in a minute than a description does in ten.
Sockets, radiators and pipework
Worth pointing out on the day so we can design around them rather than discovering them later. The same goes for anything you know about the walls or floors.

Is the design visit really free?
Yes, completely. The visit, the measuring and the 3D designs all cost nothing, and there is no obligation to go ahead afterwards. We do not charge a design fee and we do not ask for a deposit to produce drawings.
Which areas do you visit?
We cover Warrington, Cheshire, Manchester and the wider North West as standard, including towns such as Widnes, Runcorn, Lymm, Stockton Heath, Altrincham and Wilmslow. We do take on projects further afield across mainland England, Wales and Scotland, so it is always worth asking.
Who actually comes to the visit?
Someone from our own team, not a commission-only salesperson. The person who designs your furniture is the person who has stood in your room, which is a large part of why the designs fit properly.
How soon will I see the designs?
Usually within a few days of the visit. You can ask for as many changes as you like, and most projects go through two or three rounds before everything feels right. There is no limit and no charge for revisions.
What if my room is an awkward shape?
That is usually the best reason to have us round. Sloping ceilings, chimney breasts, stair bulkheads and box rooms are exactly where made-to-measure furniture beats anything off the shelf. Have a look at our tricky spaces page for examples.
